Madame Askew and The Grand Arbiter

The Grand Arbiter and I are preparing for our annual Hogmanay celebration. We’ve been hosting this virtual party since 2020, and I am so delighted to announce this year’s cosy event. For so many of us in our Steampunk CommuniTea the past year has been one filled with uncertainty, stress, heartbreak, and health challenges. A rough year, indeed! And so we are airing out the blankets, shaking out the cushion, and preparing our virtual blanket fort for an extremely cosy evening of utmost whimsy and tomfoolery.

LAMWUF–the League of Aunties, Mavens, Witches, Uncles, and Fairygodparents–is invading our little fete with their special brand of madcap magic. There will be virtual tea leaf reading, portents from Babushka Askew, and a LAMWUF themed game. Please get cosy in style! Throw on your favourite loungewear or your most fabulous caftan. And remember, everything looks stunning with a tiara. Yes, even hoodies!

The festivities start at 5 PM Pacific (Seattle) — 6 PM Mountain (Tucson) — 7 PM Central (Madison) — 8 PM Eastern (Montreal). We shan’t go too late for those who need an early night or have later adventures planned. Do bring your favourite celebratory beverage whether that is the hoarded store of Second Flush Darjeeling or a delightfully crisp sparkling concoction.
