Madame Askew and The Grand Arbiter

I am pleased as punch to introduce my special guest for this month’s Sip the Tea interview. Weyodi OldBear is a gift storyteller and incredibly delightful human. I had the great pleasure to meet her at RinCon Gaming Convention in Tuscon last year and we have been plotting to have her on the show ever since. As I was leaving the event at the end of a very full day, a dear friend waved me over and pronounced that I simply must meet Madame OldBear and that it would be a tragedy if we did not get a chance to chat. I shall be forever grateful to this friend as she was entirely correct. I lingered for almost an hour simply getting to know Weyodi. Our conversation about art, storytelling, and games was so invigorating that I knew I had to introduce all of you to her work!

An author of poetry, fiction, and tabletop role playing games, Madame OldBear has quite the range! She employs her wit and insight to grand affect in all she does, and her talent for storytelling is apparent even in casual conversation. She was part of the brilliant team behind Coyote and Crow, “a science-fantasy rpg set in an uncolonized future.” Her recent science fiction novel, As Many Ships as Stars, is also available and a fantastic addition to any science fiction reading list.
